The Flymap GlassControl is a state of the art AHRS (Attitude and Heading Referencing System) module compatible with its Flymap L GPS navigation unit.
GlassControl integrates with the Flymap L and gives the pilot access to full glass cockpit instrumentation.
Further information
GlassControl is not a certified system and is therefore only currently available for permit aircraft and microlights. GlassControl can be used in one of two ways, either in connection with a single Flymap L, where the instrument page can show a map within the horizon display; pressing the map will then swap to a page where the horizon is shown overlaid onto the map display (see attached photographs). It is also possible to use the horizon display with two Flymap L systems, in a side-by-side aircraft. The pilot can then select which screen shows instruments and which shows map, thus meaning that where dual controls are available, it is a simple matter to fly solo from either seat.
Key Features of Glass Control:
Pressure Altitude
Airspeed
True Airspeed
Vertical Speed (Climb/descent indication)
Artificial Horizon with auto-calibration
Slip ball
Directional indicator with route information (bearing, distance, estimated time)
